Attack Of The Birds

Attack of the birds.

Ever seen the scene from Jurassic park re-enacted? In real life. Just big seagulls instead of those tiny dinosaur babies?

We did. We felt exactly how the child might have felt; cute at first, scary at the end. Thankfully we did not get eaten up. Obviously😜

We visited the Dún Laoghaire CoCo Market (weekend market) at the Dún Laoghaire People’s Park. How the weekend market went will be a different post as it actually deserves a completely different one.

So back to the story.

Build Up

It was the first time we were visiting the People’s Park at Dún Laoghaire. So after browsing the stalls, we had a walk along the Dún Laoghaire East Pier. The views along the coast were serene along with foot-tapping live music by musicians.

Being the curious people with a camera, we found a beautiful spot with the wide blue sky as the background and also feels like we are at the edge of a cliff. (There were lower formations of rocks though, so completely safe.)

We set up our tripod. Took a photo, no smiles for everyone. Took another, Bhavi had decided to explore and was looking elsewhere. Devu was worried about her ice cream and making sure nothing happened to it.

How The First Bird Arrived

Third try. This is when the fun began. A guy decided to feed the birds and came behind us and started throwing breadcrumbs. We kindly let him know as we were taking pictures, could he feed the birds without being directly behind us. He happily moved for us and we took the next photo.

It was a good one. Even a seagull behind us. While I felt it looked dashing, Devu said it looks scary. So 1 more photo then.

“Seeing them really close showed us how large and sharp their beaks were.”

How The Fear Of Being Pecked Changed To Live Entertainment

“We were sure to be pecked by at least one of those seagulls as we were more or less in their way of food.”

But as we turned around, we realized that we were surrounded by hungry seagulls and more were flying in. The entire area was covered in breadcrumbs by the same guy and he was still feeding them.

We were sure we were going to be pecked by at least one of those seagulls as we were more or less in their way of food. Seeing them really close showed us how large and sharp their beaks were.

Hurrying away from their midst to somewhere safe and observing the flight of seagulls became a fun entertainment for Devu and Bhavi.

Bhavi even started waving her hands to show how they were flapping their wings. Soon the birds had their fill and flew away.

And finally, we had a photo taken which was accepted by everyone in the Anish family. Yayyyy❤️
