Location

Glencar waterfall in County Leitrim is an amazing waterfall which is easily accessible as well. It is very close to County Sligo making it possible for a day-trip from the beautiful Sligo town.

Parking

There is ample space in the car parking lot. There are toilets in parking lot as well.

From the car parking lot, it is roughly a 5-minute walk once you cross the road.

At the start there is a cafe with a playground as well. It’s a beautiful location for immersing oneself in nature with the backdrop of the Benbulben mountains.

The walk to the falls is a scenic route with brooks and bridges making it an ideal picnic spot.

The waterfall is said to have inspired W.B.Yeats in his poetry. After reaching the waterfall, there is a set of stairs if you are interested for a 2-hour hike towards a nearby hill.
