Illuminations at the Millenium Park

Illuminations At The Millenium Park

Lights lights lights… It’s Christmas time. So, it’s time to see the beautiful illuminations Ireland has to offer. Here’s the first one that we visited and it’s the illuminations at the Millenium Park in Blanchardstown, Dublin.

Millenium Park

A 2 minute drive from the Blanchardstown shopping Centre, Millenium Park is a dream park for everyone. Be it children, teenagers or adults, there is something for everyone here. Not just children’s playground, a skating park, a basketball court, the Millenium Park also has a dog leash-off area, calisthenics area, and so much more to offer . On a good sunny day, this place is one of Devu’s favorites to visit.

Illuminations At The Millenium Park

This year, the Millenium Park in Blanchardstown, Dublin, is inviting everyone to see the winter illuminations. They have named it as “The Enchanted Forest, A Celebration Of Our Aliveness”.

Devu and Bhavi loved all the lights along the walled garden in the Millenium Park. Devu kept on gushing over how everything looks beautiful and magical. Bhavi, too, was smiling at the lights, so we believe she loved it as well. It’s been so long since we went anywhere, and this was a welcome relief from the usual. It was very cold, and we had bundled up with an extra blanket covering for Bhavi’s baby carrier.

There was a special event called “The Enchanted Cycle”, on the evening of November 27th, 2021. This was a free event where anybody, above the age of 6 could register. They just had to bring their own cycles, for a 5km cycling around the park. Also, they could decorate their bike and themselves with tinsels and fairy lights.

The most exciting part for Devu was that, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus were also present to meet and greet everyone. They greeted all the enthusiastic cyclists, and took photos with them. We too managed to get some clicks.

The Claus’s flagged off the cycling with “Jingle bells”. The event was filled with so many happy faces. After a long time, it felt great seeing everyone, children and adults, equally happy and with good cheer.

How Long Does The Event Lasts

The Enchanted Forest or the illuminations in the Millenium Park started on November, 1st, 2021 and will end at December, 31st, 2021.

Summing Up

It’s Christmas time, time to get out the Christmas trees, decorate them and fill your home with the aroma of Christmas candles. If you are in the mood for some extra cheer and want to explore around Dublin, watch out this space for more interesting places that we come up with.

So, my dear friends, bundle up in your Christmas sweaters, jackets, beanies, scarfs, not to forget your masks and sanitizers’ and have a stroll along the paths of walled garden to enjoy the magical fairy lights of Millenium Park.
